Social listening
for lead generation: FAQ

How does social listening help with lead generation?

People often describe a problem, ask for a recommendation, or look for an alternative in public posts. Social listening helps you find these conversations. Goss compares them with what your product does and explains why a post could be worth your time.

How does Goss find leads across X, Reddit, Hacker News, and public Facebook posts?

With live scanning enabled, Goss turns your website into a product profile and search topics, searches selected public sources through RouterGrowth, and scores the results for fit and intent. The dashboard shows the original post and the reason for each match.

What counts as a potential lead?

A relevant request for a recommendation, a search for an alternative, or an unresolved problem your product addresses. A score is a signal to investigate, not proof that someone is ready to buy. Read the post and its context before responding.

Can I find leads on Reddit, Hacker News, or Facebook?

Yes. Choose your sources before scanning. Facebook covers public posts, not private groups. Every scan costs at most $0.20 in RouterGrowth data; Jev analysis is included. Check the available sources for the current status.

Do I need to set up keywords or write prompts?

No. Start with your website. Goss selects search topics from your product’s content. You can review and edit the product profile and searches afterward.

Does Goss send messages or post replies?

No. Goss helps you discover and review opportunities. Open the original post to write your own reply when you have something useful to add.

Is Goss free and open source?

The application code is free under the MIT license, and the example dashboard is free to explore. Live data calls use your paid RouterGrowth balance and require an active intelligence service. Customers do not need a Jev key.
